The
work performed so far was presented at the conference of the
International Society for Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics in
Durban, South Africa. The paper generated substantial interest, and was

|
Funding for Phase 2 of the
project has been confirmed. This will consist of development of
training materials and subsequent training of inspectors; farm trials
of the protocol on 15 pig farms throughtout New Zealand; formal
validation of the reliability and repeatability of the protocol; and
development of an electronic data registration system. The project
duration will be one year. Training will commence in August 2009.
